At Origine Nature, giving back is second nature to us
Social consciousness is part of our DNA and one of our founding core values. We have a sense of community, and we know that we become stronger by taking care of each other. These values are cultivated at every level, from our CEO, David, who always wears his heart on his sleeve, to our employees who get involved with local organizations. Here are just a few of the causes the Origine Nature team supported in 2023.
Palliative care
This year, Origine Nature provided financial support to Fondation La Traversée, a community organization in the Laurentians. With the donations it receives, Maison La Traversée provides free palliative care and quality accompaniment to residents at the end of life. In a warm, comfortable environment and with the help of a caring team of caregivers, these people can get through this time peacefully, surrounded by their loved ones.
Fighting poverty and promoting social inclusion
Our team raised $2,000 for Centraide des Hautes-Laurentides to support community organizations that help people affected by poverty and social exclusion. These funds are reinvested directly in the region and support initiatives and projects that, on a local scale, have a real impact on people’s lives. It’s a way for us to help build a stronger, more united community.
Women’s shelter
Origine Nature’s Administration and Human Resources teams donated $2,500 to Maison L’Ombre-Elle, a Sainte-Agathe-based organization that helps women who are victims of domestic violence and their children by providing them with a safe place to stay and support services.
Helping our region shine
At Origine Nature, we feel it’s important for us to invest in our community’s development and influence. This is why our management is involved in the development of our host community, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, and the Laurentians. This ongoing commitment is reflected in our partnership with the Chambre de commerce du Grand Sainte-Agathe.
Origine Nature also does its part to put our beautiful region on the map: We were a finalist in the prestigious Mercuriades competition, earned a spot among the “Best Workplaces in Canada” according to Great Place to Work, and collaborated with the Association québécoise de l’industrie du chanvre et cannabis. It’s safe to say we have our region’s best interests at heart!
Fight against cancer
If you know the story of how Origine Nature founder David Bow became interested in the medicinal benefits of cannabis, you won’t be surprised to learn that one of the causes we care about the most is the fight against cancer. Our team took part in the last two editions of the 24 h Tremblant event, raising $3,275 and $3,100 respectively.
Food security
Clémence Alix, our Executive Assistant, sits on the Board of Directors of Chefs à la rescousse, an organization that provides ready-to-eat meals to the regions needy. This year, to help fight hunger in these tough economic times, Origine Nature’s management prepared Christmas baskets for employees experiencing financial difficulties. This 100% confidential initiative enabled these members of our extended family to bring their loved ones a happy Christmas, despite the dramatic rise in the cost of groceries. Taking care of our team is what it’s all about!
